Enlivened by Researchers from all over Indonesia, BICoSP Hosts the Development of Social Sciences in the Digital Age
Denpasar, 197 papers were presented regarding the big theme "The Future of Social and Political Sciences in a Networked Society for Sustainability." BICoSP organized by FISIP Udayana exists as a platform for collaboration, learning, and generating actionable knowledge. (10/07/2023)
After the presentation of the keynote speaker at the "Bali International Conference on Social and Political Sciences" or BICoSP, the agenda was continued with a parallel session in the form of presentations of the participants' manuscripts. It was recorded that there were 197 manuscripts that were successfully presented by participants from various backgrounds, such as lecturers, students, and researchers from various institutions.
In this session, conference participants were directed to join 12 Webex rooms according to the script's sub-theme. The sub-themes of BICoSP 2023, such as information and big data; information society; policy and e-government; social innovation and collaboration; democracy and participation; elections and political parties; gender equality and women's empowerment; human rights, social justice and social movement; globalization and digital diplomacy, social resilience and conflict resolution; media, journalism, and digital literacy; as well as information technology and communication. Each room was guided by 12 moderators who came from lecturers and alumni at FISIP Udayana.
Each participant was given the opportunity to present their manuscript for 7 minutes, followed by a question and answer session. After the presentation activity, the participants were directed to the main room for the closing agenda by the Head of BICoSP 2023, Putu Nomy Yasintha, S.Sos., M.PA, and the announcement of the best presenter. In closing, Nomy Yasintha appreciated all parties who had helped in the success of this inaugural international conference, and appreciation was also given to the participants and students who had participated in this activity.
The 12 best presenters from each sub-theme are as follows:
1. Rahmawati, Andi Alimuddin Unde, and Tuti Bahfiarti, with the title "Privacy in Online Dating: A Communication Privacy Management Perspective" from Hasanuddin University;
2. Afifah Anjani, Fransiska Timoria Samosir, and Lailatus Sa'diyah, with the title “Empowering Women's Literacy Through Buibu Online Community Read Book Club Books” from the University of Bengkulu;
3. Rudi Candra, with the title "Constructivism Analysis of the US Foreign Policy of the Donald Trump Regime: A Case Study of Islamophobia" from Darussalam Gontor University;
4. Aliya Hamida, with the title “Community-Based Empowerment Model for Single Mothers: A Case Study of Rumpun Nurani's Initiatives in Yogyakarta” from Yogyakarta Technology University;
5. Ni Nyoman Clara Listya Dewi and Tunjung Wijanarka, with the title "Democratic Transition in Myanmar & Thailand: Road Back to Democracy or Stepping Out" from Udayana University;
6. Dinar Safa Anggreni, entitled “The Path of Women's Power in Elections: Case Studies of Women's Victory in South Sumatra” from the APP Jakarta Polytechnic;
7. Dian Aditya Ning Lestari, Dr. Ery Iswary M. Hum, and Dr. Muhammad Tamar, with the title "The Role of Social Media in the Transition of Gender Inclusive Values in South Sulawesi: Sociopolitical Analysis for Sustainability" from Hasanuddin University;
8. Magello Rainer B Fenis, with the title “The Militaristic Pandemic Response of Duterte: How Did it Affect Social Movements?” from the Indonesian International Islamic University;
9. Anak Agung Mia Intentilia, with the title “Knowledge Diplomacy in EU-ASEAN Collaboration: Opportunities and Challenges” from the National Education University;
10. Vikry Reinaldo Paais and Megiridha Loppies with the title "Cultural Violence: An Overview of Islam-Christian Relationship in Ambon as a Post-Conflict Society" from Gadjah Mada University, and Cenderawasih University;
11. Maudy Noor Fadhlia, with the title “The Role of Media During the Period of Democratic Transition in Southeast Asia” from Sriwijaya University;
12. Monika Sri Yuliarti, with the title "Women, Technology, and SDGs: The Use of ICT in The Empowerment of 'Professional Mothers' Community during COVID-19 Pandemic" from Ewha Womans University;
Finally, to close the conference, all participants were invited to do a group photo session. Representing the entire committee, Nomy Yasintha hopes that this conference will not only be a platform for collaboration, learning, and generating actionable knowledge, but can also generate thought-provoking discussions and pave the way for a more sustainable and equitable future.
