Improving Political Education, Udayana Political Science Student Association Holds Community Service
Denpasar, In order to help improve political education
in the community, the Udayana Political Science Student Association held a
service activity as well as socialization located in Kapal Village, Mengwi
sub-district, Badung. (01/05/2022)
The community service activity was carried out for two
days, starting with cleaning the environment in the Sada temple area at Kapal
Village on Friday, April 29, 2022. Then continued on Saturday, April 30, 2022,
with a Beginner Voter Socialization activity inviting the Seka Teruna Teruni
and high school students throughout the Kapal Village as participants.
In connection with the 2024 election is getting
closer, the socialization of the novice voters was carried out by directly
presenting the Commissioner of the General Election Commission of the Province
of Bali, I Gusti Ngurah Agus Darmasanjaya, ST., MH., and a lecturer in
Political Science, Efatha Filomeno Borromeu Duarte, S.IP., M.Sos., as the
speaker.
The socialization which took place at the Wantilan
(pavilion) of Kapal Village was opened by the Village Head of Kapal Village, I
Nyoman Sudiarta, SE., together with the Bendesa Adat, Petajuh Desa Adat,
Pecalang and Village Advisory Officer. Also present, I Made Anom Wiranata,
S.IP, M.A. as Deputy Dean III of the Udayana Faculty of Social and Political
Sciences, Dr. Tedi Erviantono, S.IP., M.Sc. as the Coordinator of the Udayana
Political Science Study Program, as well as representatives of student
organizations within the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Udayana
University.
Several things are being discussed, such as updating
voter data, political hoaxes, religious issues, and post-truth phenomena in
politics to the potential of the millennial generation in politics. The
enthusiasm of the participants was seen in the number of participants who asked
questions about various issues in the discussion session guided by a political
science student of Udayana University.
The socialization activity was closed with the handing
over of the committee plaque to the Kapal Village and a group photo session.
This is also the closing activity of community service activities. With this
event, it is hoped that it will be able to arouse the enthusiasm of the
millennial generation to enter politics, as well as help increase the
participation of novice voters in the 2024 election.
