UNUD FISIP Library Study Program Holds the VIIIth National Seminar with the theme "Information Literacy for Children, Artificial Intelligence and Social Media Outreach"

D3 Library Study Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Udayana University carried out the VIIIth National Library Seminar with the theme "Information Literacy for Children, Artificial Intelligence and Social Media Outreach". On Friday, October 20 2023 in the 4th Floor Hall of the FISIP Building, Udayana University, Sudirman Campus. This event was also carried out in a hybrid manner via Cisco Webex and broadcast live from the Udayana TV YouTube channel. The VIIIth National Library Seminar this time presented 3 speakers, namely, Dr Yona Primadesi, S.Sos., M.Hum from Padang State University Dr. Luh Putu Sri Ariyani, S.S., M.Hum from Ganesha Education University and Raymond Pun, MLS, EdB from Alder Graduate School of Education, California USA and guided directly by Richard Togaranta Ginting S.Sos., M.Hum as moderator of this event. The event was officially opened by Deputy Dean 1 (Academic and Planning) FISIP Unud, Dr. Ni Made Ras Amanda Gelgel, S.Sos., M.Sc.

The first speaker was delivered by Dr Yona Primadesi, S.Sos., M.Hum with material on Literacy Practices in Children. He stated that in literacy practices for children, librarians must be able to apply the B.O.N.A (Background, Originality, Negotiation, and Association) communication model so that children can receive the maximum information they want to convey.

Then continued by the second speaker, Dr. Luh Putu Sri Ariyani, S.S., M.Hum, presented material on Artificial Intelligence (AI) Literacy for a Better Future. He stated that AI is currently very important but must still be addressed by realizing that the value of humans as AI creators will always be better and should not be too dependent on artificial intelligence.

And the final speaker was presented by Raymond Pun, MLS, EdB with material on Social Media Outreach. He stated about IFLA Continuing Professional Development and Workplace Learning (CPDWL) as inspirational information for development and learning in the workplace in building professional performance and also the role of social media in developing self-image and libraries.

This activity aims to provide insight, knowledge and an overview of the relationship between technological developments and the use of social media in library development and the role of children's literacy today. All participants who attended offline and online were very enthusiastic about taking part in this National Seminar.
