FISIP Students Win the 168th Best Graduate Award at Udayana University
An atmosphere of pride and emotion colored the 168th Udayana University graduation ceremony, held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at the Widya Sabha Auditorium on the Jimbaran Campus. A total of 1,081 graduates were officially inaugurated during the academic ceremony.
Among the thousands of graduation gowns filling the auditorium, there was encouraging news from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP). I Made Wiswa Nandana, S.I.Kom., a Communication Studies student, was named Best Graduate at Udayana University. This achievement is a testament to the dedication and hard work of FISIP students in achieving outstanding academic achievements.
On that occasion, Wiswa expressed his gratitude with full humility. "First of all, I am very grateful to God because without His grace, this achievement wouldn't be possible. So my feelings are mixed, there are feelings of happiness, pride, and humility. I believe this is not only my achievement, but also a blessing from God and the support system around me such as family, friends, Communication Science lecturers, and everyone who always prays for me. In my opinion, being the best graduate is not the end, but the beginning to continue learning, contributing, and making a positive impact on many people around me," he said.
However, beneath the joy, this graduation ceremony also held a touching moment. One of the FISIP graduates from the Communication Studies Program, who had passed away earlier, was nevertheless inaugurated as a graduate of Udayana University. His diploma was specially presented directly to his parents, who were greeted with warmth and prayers from all in attendance.
Wiswa's inspiring story and meaningful moment serve as a reminder that graduation is not just the end of a student's academic journey, but also the beginning of a new chapter in contributing, both in academia and society.
