Ms. Amanda McLoughlin OBE Visits Udayana Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Discusses UK-Indonesia Cooperation

Denpasar, March 17, 2025 –

Udayana University welcomed Ms. Amanda McLoughlin OBE, Minister-Counsellor Development for Indonesia, ASEAN, and Timor-Leste from the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) UK. This visit was conducted in order to establish cooperation and collaboration between FCDO and Udayana University.

On that occasion, there were two agendas. The first agenda began with a warm discussion with the Chancellor of Udayana University and the leaders of Udayana University and the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences. This discussion discussed opportunities for cooperation in the fields of education, research, and international development issues between the UK and Indonesia. The activity took place in the Dean's room of the FISIP, Udayana University.

The second agenda was a public lecture to students of the International Relations Study Program with the theme of UK-Indonesia Development Cooperation, the activity took place in the 4th Floor Hall of the FISIP Udayana University. In his lecture, he discussed development cooperation between the UK and Indonesia, as well as the importance of the role of the younger generation in facing global challenges. The activity was lively and interactive, showing the importance of discussing this issue.

The visit underlined the commitment of both countries to strengthen bilateral relations, particularly through collaboration between FCDO and academics. Ms. Amanda McLoughlin specifically expressed her hope that this activity could continue and be repeated, with other speakers from FCDO.

This good collaboration and cooperation is expected to not only strengthen the relationship between Udayana University and FCDO UK, but also provide inspiration for students to be actively involved in global issues.
