PRESS CONFERENCE OCEAN REVIVAL FEST 2024

Denpasar, 30 November 2024 - On Saturday, at the Bali Province Regional Office of the Indonesian Ministry of Defense, a Press Conference was held to introduce Ocean Revival Fest 2024, a festival initiated by the Udayana University (UNUD) Communication Science program. In this event, the organizers revealed the main aim of the festival, namely increasing awareness of the importance of ocean cleanliness and preserving marine biota.

The Chief Executive of Ocean Revival Fest 2024, Yudi, explained that this activity was initiated as a response to public concern regarding marine damage due to human activities. "This activity is our effort to restore nature to how it was before," he said. The previous series of events started with a canoe clean-up on November 16, Hero Goes to School at SDN 2 Sanur and Tri Kaya Educare on November 23, and a beach clean-up at Kelan Beach on November 25, in collaboration with Malu Dong Community.

The highlight of the Ocean Revival Fest 2024 event will be held at the Muntig Siokan Inspiration Park on December 7 2024, with a talk show on the theme of coral reefs, under water cleanup and beach friends. Workshop activities will also take place, including sessions on making environmentally friendly items such as tote bags. Apart from that, the event was also filled with solo vocal performances from Patricia and the band 21band.

With a target of 150 participants, the committee hopes to attract the attention of audiences who care about environmental issues. "We have had around 80 people buy tickets, and we are optimistic that we can reach the target," said the committee.

In the question and answer session, media representatives asked about collaboration with the government and the involvement of lecturers in talk shows. Yudi explained that although there has been no special collaboration with the government, they have collaborated with the private sector for waste management. "We also invite competent practitioners in the field of marine environment to speak at the top event," he added.

The organizers hope that the media can participate in promoting this event and help spread the message of the importance of preserving the sea.
