Strategic Collaboration Between the Udayana University FISIP Communication Study Program and the Indonesian Public Relations Company Association

Denpasar, 21 June 2024 – The Communication Science Study Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) Udayana University has collaborated with the Association of Indonesian Public Relations Companies (APPRI). The signing of the cooperation agreement as well as implementation of arrangement (IA) was held on Friday 21 June 2024 at the FISIP building, Udayana University, and was attended by the Dean of FISIP Dr. Drs. I Nengah Punia, M.Si, Coordinator of Communication Science Study Program I Dewa Ayu Sugiarica Joni, S.Sos., MA., General Chairperson of APPRI R.A. Dyah Dharmikasari Soegondo, S.Sos., M.Si, CPR who was accompanied by APPRI administrators Jojo S. Nugroho, CPR and Fardila Astari, IAPR as well as a lecturer in communication sciences, FISIP, Udayana University.

In his speech, the Dean of FISIP, Udayana University, Dr. Drs. I Nengah Punia, M.Sc., said that this collaboration is a strategic step to improve the quality of education in the field of communication science. "With this collaboration, we hope to open wider opportunities for our students to gain practical experience in the world of the public relations industry," said Dr. Drs. I Nengah Punia.

This collaboration was carried out as a form of implementation of the MBKM program which includes various programs, including the development of academic activities, workshops, seminars, expertise exchange and internships for students. Direct collaboration was realized through the development of academic activities in the form of a sharing session on "How to Win PR Awards Competition" which presented 30 communication science study program students from various generations. Sharing sessions with public relations practitioners from APPRI enrich the academic insight of students and lecturers and also provide motivation for students to take part in public relations competitions at local, national and international levels.

The Chairperson of APPRI, Mrs. Sari Soegondo, expressed her enthusiasm for this collaboration. "We see great potential in collaboration with Udayana University. "Through this partnership, we hope to be able to contribute to academic and academic development, especially in the field of public relations, which is of course very much needed in today's industry," said Sari.

Koprodi Communication Science, I Dewa Ayu Sugiarica Joni, S.Sos., MA. also welcomes this cooperation agreement. “We at the study program are very happy with the opportunities provided through this collaboration. "We can learn directly from experts in the field of public relations from APPRI, where as we all know, this association has overseen many public relations companies throughout Indonesia since 1987 and of course with this collaboration, study programs and students gain valuable experience," said Ida Joni.

This signing event ended with a discussion session and group photo, which marked the start of a new era of collaboration between academics and practitioners in the field of communication, especially public relations. With this collaboration, it is hoped that graduates of the Udayana University Communication Studies Program will be better prepared and competent in facing challenges in the professional world.

It is hoped that this collaboration will have a positive impact on the development of communication science and create a strong synergy between the world of education and the public relations industry in Indonesia.
