Collaboration between Unud International Relations Study Program and the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Indonesia South-South Cooperation Seminar
The
International Relations Study Program, Udayana University in collaboration with
the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a seminar entitled
"Reflection of a Decade of Indonesian South-South Cooperation (KSS),"
on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at the FISIP Hall, Denpasar. This event provides an
understanding of the cooperation of developing countries in the southern
hemisphere in the context of the welfare of the international community. There
were two speakers from the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, namely Maria
Renata Hutagalung, as Director of International Development Cooperation, and
Diar Nurbintoro, Director of the Non-Aligned Movement Center for South-South
Technical Cooperation (NAM CSSTC). The two speakers explained how developing
countries help each other in terms of development and humanity, as well as
technical collaboration between countries in realizing such cooperation at a
practical level. They said that currently Indonesia has contributed to
international development to several countries in several fields, such as
agriculture, fisheries, and MSMEs. The presentation of the material was
continued with a response session from IR Lecturers at Udayana University,
Sukma Sushanti and Putu Ratih Kumala Dewi, who provided critical perspectives
on the themes presented, and aimed to ignite a discussion space with the
participants. The seminar which was attended by Unud students, Undiknas, and
other invited guests opened the door to knowledge in terms of international
cooperation and development, especially in the region, Africa and Asia Pacific.
South-South Cooperation (KSS) which was born from the Asia-Africa Conference
has the aim of helping developing countries so that bilateral trust can be
created, especially towards Indonesia.
