Carrying the theme "Let's Exchange, Empower, Elevate," Craftheria is a real form of implementing public relations functions that are not only oriented towards communication, but also have a social impact. This activity was born from the project idea of one of the groups that was successfully selected based on the relevance of its theme to the profile of the class which is predominantly female, as well as the values of sustainability and empowerment that are carried.
In collaboration with Craftopia, a social enterprise founded in 2023, Craftheria promotes the spirit of sustainable fashion and empowering women who face challenges in pursuing conventional careers. Craftopia focuses on the production of handicrafts such as knitwear and products from patchwork and recycled materials, made by women who need the flexibility of working from home.
As the main activity, Craftheria presents e-commerce training, use of the Shopee and Instagram platforms, copywriting, and digital content production provided to Craftopia partners to help improve their brand existence in the digital realm. This project also aims to open access to media relations and expand Craftopia's exposure in the public eye.
The series of activities closed with D-Day Craftheria which was the peak of the event. Held at Bron Café, this event presented a showcase of Craftopia products and live knitting demonstrations that provided an interactive experience for visitors. D-Day Craftheria was also attended by various parties ranging from lecturers, students from various classes, to invited guests. This activity was supported by media partners from Himanika, Balinggih, Dvbc Indonesia, and URBVOX, as well as sponsors from CV Sasorey, Wardah, Poparoi, and of course Bron Café as the venue for the peak of the event.
The head of the Craftheria committee, Ida Ayu Sri Adnyani Putri, also expressed her pride in the implementation of this Public Relations Activity project. "Through this event, we are also proud to be able to apply the knowledge we learned in college in real terms, and seeing my friends working wholeheartedly makes me proud and optimistic that we can create an impactful event," she said.
Although the Coordinator of the Communication Science Study Program, I Dewa Ayu Sugiarica Joni, S.Sos., M.A., was unable to attend, the event was still officially opened by Briant Nor Pradhuka, M.I.Kom. as the lecturer. In his speech, he expressed his appreciation for the hard work of all students who had made this event a success from the planning stage to the implementation.
Ms. Esti, the owner of Craftopia, also expressed her gratitude. She expressed her pleasure in collaborating with students in an activity that was not only educational but also relevant to her business's social mission. She also said that in August, Craftopia will hold a grand opening and several representatives from Craftheria will be invited.
Through Craftheria, students not only learn to design and manage an event, but also understand the importance of the role of public relations in building strategic relationships and increasing partner visibility. The hope is that this collaboration can be the beginning of a long-term cooperation that has a positive impact on both parties.
