UDAYANA FISIP LECTURERS STUDY OPEN-OFF SCOPUS ARTICLES AND INTERNAL & NATIONAL RESEARCH GRANTS

In an effort to improve the quality of scientific publications and research, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of Udayana University held a workshop entitled "Research Preparation Workshop", on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. Held in the Prof. Dr. I Goesti Ngoerah Gde Ngoerah Building Room, 4th Floor, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University on Jalan Sudirman Denpasar, this workshop equipped FISIP lecturers with strategies and tips for designing Scopus-indexed articles as well as internal and national research grant proposals.

This event presented two experts in their fields, such as Dr. Sulanam, M.Pd who presented the material on writing and publishing Scopus articles. He is a lecturer at UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya who also serves as Executive Editor, Journal of Indonesian Islam which has been indexed by Scopus Q1. On this occasion, Dr. Sulanam shared various tips and tricks to "penetrate" internationally reputable journals, including writing strategies, journal selection, and the submission process. "Determining the type of target journal from the start & adjusting the topic, approach, and research method to be relevant and attractive to the journal to be targeted is the initial step in the strategy to start indexed articles," said Dr. Sulanam, M.Pd. in delivering material during the workshop.

Meanwhile, Dr. Tedi Erviantono, S.IP., M.Si., Coordinator of the Political Science Study Program at Udayana University's Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, who has successfully obtained a national research grant, shared his experience in preparing a grant proposal. Dr. Tedi explained in detail the ins and outs of submitting a grant application, starting from identifying relevant topics, preparing a strong proposal framework, to tips for getting the proposal noticed by funders. Dr. Tedi Erviantono, S.IP., M.Si., also told and shared his experience regarding the process and procedures for designing his research until it passed the curation and received a research grant from the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Technology.

The lecturers from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of Udayana University who participated in this workshop appeared enthusiastic in participating in each session. They actively participated in discussions and asked questions, demonstrating a high level of enthusiasm to continue developing their scientific capacity. The Chair of the Workshop Committee, A.A. Raka Jayaningsih, S.Ikom., M.Med., Kom., expressed her hope that this activity would be a catalyst for FISIP lecturers in implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, as well as increasing Scopus publications and obtaining research grants within the FISIP environment.

This workshop is a proactive step by the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of Udayana University in supporting the university's vision to become a superior, independent, cultured, and globally competitive Udayana University, especially through improving the quality of research and scientific publications of lecturers.
