FISIP UNUD COMMUNICATION SCIENCE STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN THE 2025 SUMMER CAMP PROGRAM IN CHINA

Udayana University Communication Science students participated in the 2025 Summer Camp program at Nanchang University, China. The activity, which was held from June 29 to July 10, 2025, was carried out under the auspices of the Tourism Confucius Institute (TCI) Faculty of Tourism, Udayana University. This year's Summer Camp graduated 20 participants including lecturers and students from various faculties at Udayana University. Ni Putu Keisha Adinda Wira Putri or familiarly called Keisha, is one of them. Together with other friends, Keisha demonstrated her ability to share ideas, exchange thoughts, and make real contributions to prove their commitment to participating in the 2025 Summer Camp activities.

This year's Summer Camp 2025 was inaugurated by the Vice President of Nanchang University on Tuesday, July 1, 2025. With a variety of series held at Summer Camp 2025, Keisha and other friends, both fellow participants from Udayana University and participants from other countries, were very enthusiastic in participating in this activity. This was shown when they studied Chinese culture. "I prepared myself seriously, not only from a technical side, but also from a mental and emotional side. I studied and practiced the language more diligently, so I could communicate and absorb the material better. In addition, I also prepared myself personally—instilling in my heart that I would meet a very diverse environment and culture," said Keisha on her readiness to participate in the Summer Camp 2025 activities. Various interesting insights can be learned by participants, especially in the context of Chinese culture. Summer Camp 2025 invites its participants to see how China has developed, especially in the context of technological progress, infrastructure, regional spatial planning, and the context of environmental cleanliness.

Considering that Summer Camp 2025 will be held in China, there are certainly challenges for Keisha. According to her, the most prominent challenge is the use of language, namely Mandarin. When trying to communicate with other friends, Keisha tends to use English to make it easier to communicate with each other. "There are moments where I want to convey something more deeply, but the language barrier makes me hesitate. However, it is precisely from this limitation that I learn to be more patient, to dare to try, and to not be afraid to make mistakes," said Keisha when asked about how she communicates with her fellow students. However, this small obstacle did not hinder how Keisha progressed during Summer Camp 2025. "I am also grateful because my friends and facilitators were very supportive, making me feel accepted and understood, even though I am not perfect in expressing myself," said Keisha. This is what further increases Keisha's enthusiasm to continue learning and adapting during the Summer Camp 2025 activities.

The Head of the TCI Faculty of Tourism, Udayana University, Dr. I Gusti Ngurah Widyatmaja, expressed his gratitude to the leadership of Nanchang University for the opportunity to participate in Summer Camp 2025. This activity is certainly expected to provide new insights and can educate how a country's development can be used as useful knowledge for the participants who participated in Summer Camp 2025. "Summer Camp 2025 is not just an activity, but a journey of the heart, insight, and cross-cultural encounters. Here, I learned many things that I did not find in the classroom about togetherness, courage, and diversity. I had the opportunity to get to know other cultures directly, touch stories from various corners of the world, and build friendships with friends from various countries. This experience is a piece of life that I will always keep in my heart—because it changed me into someone who is more open, more caring, and more daring to dream big." Keisha said in conveying her message and impressions during the 2025 Summer Camp. In the future, it is hoped that the innovations in the 2025 Summer Camp activities can continue to inspire and vary so that interested participants of this activity can feel extraordinary insights and experiences.
